Why It’s On The List:
The sexy, sultry theme song to the James Bond film “The Spy Who Loved Me.” I have always loved this song. I don't know why but I VIVIDLY remember hearing this song when I either 4 or 5 years old. It was in the living room in our townhouse in Virginia Beach. I was playing or running around and this song stopped me cold in my tracks and I stood there and listened to the whole thing coming out of the radio. Why do I remember this? No clue, but it's stayed with me forever.

Brings up a chicken or egg kind of question for me: are we drawn to certain music/TV/movies/people/art because of our personality or does or personality draw us to certain music/TV/movies/people/art?

Even as a kid, I wanted things to be "classy" and nice and refined.

I've always enjoyed "Frasier," wine, this song, etc. Is that from my DNA or did I get to that place because of those things?
It has always intrigued me.

Anyways - this song was always going to make any kind of all-time favorite list regardless of any related story. And I wish I had a better, less megalomaniacal reason for its connection to this list than the following, but it's 100% true:

I want this song played at my fantasy football Hall of Fame induction ceremony.

Just a gorgeous slow motion montage of me with all my championship trophies intermixed with pics of Jonathan being sad that he lost.

Worst case - I seriously want a fantasy football segment during my funeral (more on this tomorrow!). Chad or Paul can get give some remarks and recap of my storied career as this song plays in the background.

Man, it’s a shame I won’t be there to see that.

Favorite Line:
“I wasn't looking
But somehow you found me
I tried to hide from your love light
Like heaven above me The spy who loved me
Is keeping all my secrets safe tonight."

While We're Here:
Quick Programming Note - Today will be the last day of the "If You Liked This Song..." section. Starting tomorrow, we enter the home stretch of the inner sanctum of my all time favorites and I just want the focus to be solely on them.

If You Liked This Song...
I have this random collection of songs from the 70's and 80's that I love but didn't have anywhere else to put them, so here they are:
- Rock Me Gently
- December 1963
- Bette Davis Eyes
- Leather and Lace
- Desperado
